3 Steps to Setting Up Your Own Money-Making Blog!

Thanks for sticking out with me on this special blogging tutorial.This is lesson 2 of the series.Before I go into the article proper,let me quickly tell you 4 reasons you should get into blogging now.

Reason No 1-You can make good money and this is no joke.I make good money from this blog and so do other bloggers such as Steve Pavlina,Darren Rowse,Yaro Starak,etc.These guys make six figures,just from blogging.More than ever before,there are several advertising programs which you can take advatage of to make money from your blog.In fact,there are several advertising programs which are targetted strictly towards bloggers.You can take advantage of these to also make money.I know you want to ask me the advertsing programs you can make money from as a blogger.I will treat that in a subsequent lesson.

Reason No 2-You’ll enjoy the best of two worlds-having fun doing what you love.If you are the type that hates your daily job,you will understand this point very well as blogging gives you the best of 2 worlds.

Reason No 3-It will give you an outlet for your ideas.If you are a very creative person who is forever bubbling with ideas,blogging gives you an outlet to vent out those ideas for the consumption of your readers.

Reason No 4-You can instantly build a followership,a community and build yourself as an expert in the area you’re blogging on.Blogging quickly establishes you as an authority in the area in which you have chosen to blog.For instance,this blog has made me a sort of authority on creating wealth.

Now that we are done with the reasons,let me quickly tell you 3 steps to set up your own money-making blog.

Step no 1-Choose the topic you want to blog on.Now,I know there are several keyword list flying about showing you how to target certain keywords to make more money from the Google Adsense Program. But my question is,can you sustain such a blog since it is not an area in which your interest lies? I’d rather you blogged on a topic which you are passionate about.I’m passionate about the subject of creating wealth and that is why I have been able to sustain this blog for close to a year. So,sit down and ask yourself,what subject am I passionate about? If you are passionate about cars,please blog about cars,you’ll have more success doing this than just choosing a topic based on a keyword list. Why? I want you to become a professional blogger. And you can only become one if you blog about a subject in which you are genuinely interested.This way,it no longer looks like work to you.Hope you do get my drift?

Step no 2- Register a domain name and get hosting.You have to pay for both.If you need assistance,please let me know.Whatever domain name you want to use should reflect what you want to do on the blog.For instance,if you want to blog about love affairs,a name such as http://loveaffairs.com is appropriate. You need hosting and I think 50mb is okay for a start. I know you want to ask me why I am asking you to pay when you can use the free service of http://blogger.com. If you want to be seen as a serious blogger,I think you should have your own doamin name.Come to think of it,domain registration is not even expensive.It’s less than $10,so,why don’t you take that route to give your blog a more professional look? This view of mine stands for any aspect of making money online.Get your own doamin name and website,it gives you instant credibility.

Step no 3-Instal your blog.I highly recommend Wordpress.Why? It comes with some plugins which extend the functionality of your blog. If your hosting package comes with fantastico,you can use that to automatically instal your blog.If it doesn’t have fantastico,you have to download the wordpress software from http://wordpress.org and manually upload it to your web server.
If you are however unsure if blogging is for you,first test the waters.I am a strong believer in starting whatever you want to do small.Start a blog on a free service such as http://blogger.com and if you are able to sustain the blog for some months,I guess you can go the whole hog and follow the steps above.
